Metro Bank Visit iQQTV

Meshgan Osmani, a 26-year-old business manager from Metro Bank, presented to Business Level 3 students at Hammersmith and Fulham College today, 20 November 2023. Meshgan told the learners that “this day is all about your careers and achieving the soft skills you need.” She talked about expanding their knowledge on self-development and encouraged students to imagine their brightest futures.

Meshgan started the presentation by asking the students to write down the things they wanted to achieve. This allowed the learners to think about their futures and how to get to their goals. One student responded, “I want to own a business.” This was a strong start to the presentation as it immediately gave the students something to engage them.

Meshgan then introduced PIE to the students. PIE stands for Presentation, Image, Exposure. She explained why these three things are important and expanded on how they can gain exposure to be noticed by employers. She explained how important it is to be punctual, be prepared, have a strong work ethic, have positive energy, and more.

Leah, a Business Level 3 student in her second year said: “I really like that Meshgan included us to participate with her, instead of just talking to us.”

Finally, Meshgan talked about the type of accounts that you can apply for at Metro Bank. Some examples are cash account, cash ISA, current account and limited edition rates, and more. She explained their benefits such as interest rates, direct debits, and tax-free savings, and suggested which account would be best for individuals in different situations. For example, a good account to pick if you are going to university would be the current account.

Business Lecturer Amina Bashir added: “The main intent of this presentation was to help enrich students’ knowledge in the financial products available to them from Metro Bank, especially for students going to university.”
